Moloch / Lich, Primitive Man / Sea Bastard, Bismuth...

Hello once again!

There's been a fair bit happening since I last concocted one of these damn things, but I'll keep it brief:

First up, the near 2 year wait is finally over! The lesser-spotted Moloch / Lich split LP is finally available to pre-order. There were times when I thought this release would never materialise, but thankfully everybody's patience has paid off and they will be due to ship at the beginning of February. You can stream the entire thing here.

Next up, the Primitive Man / Sea Bastard split LP is imminent. Test presses were approved a few weeks ago but we had some issues getting the artwork finished. That is all (hopefully!) done, now we're just waiting for a shipment date from the pressing plant. Keep your eyes peeled for an exclusive stream and pre-orders very soon.

As most of you will be aware, since the last newsletter, I co-released the crushing (that word isn't overused in doom circles is it!??!) debut full length from Nottingham doom duo, Bismuth. This has garnered some great reviews and well deserved plaudits, which means it has been selling pretty quick;  I now have less than 10 copies of this beast left, so I wouldn't leave it too long before grabbing yourself one!
In other news, I have two other LPs in early stages of production that will see the light of day before summer if all goes to plan (more info on these soon); plus a couple of other things I've agreed to for later in the year. It's all terribly exciting.

I still have copies of the Opium Lord, Ommadon, and Open Tomb LPs, plus the Sickmark, Big Machine and (one) Moloch/Haggatha 7's left, as well as some choice stuff in the distro.

That's all for now, so until next time....

Hey all
For those of you who actually read these posts, apologies for the lack of them recently. Dull real life stuff has meant that my free time has been scarce so label activity has taken a back seat over the last couple of months.
Since the last newsletter/post, the Opium Lord and Sickmark records and the Glarus tape have been released and are still available in the store, alongside limited copies of the Nightslug, Big Machine, Ommadon, Moloch/Haggatha, and Open Tomb records.
In other news, I'm delighted to announce that Dry Cough will be co-releasing the first full length from Nottingham doom duo, Bismuth. I've been eager to work with the band since the inception of the label so I'm made up to finally get the chance to do so. The test presses have been approved and the plant have given us an estimated shipping date of mid-November. Keep an eye out for an exclusive stream and pre-order info.
Another new release in the works is from a new project involving members Moloch, Ommadon and Bismuth. There's not much to say at the minute but I've heard the rough mixes of the two tracks they recorded recently, and it's safe to say that if you're a fan of their parent bands then you'll love this! More info as I have it.
The long-mooted Lich/Moloch split is painfully inching closer to existing. The Moloch tracks are done (and sound crushing!), the artwork has been chosen, we're now just waiting on layout design and the Lich tracks to be mastered. This will likely see the light of day early in the new year - almost 2 years after I first agreed to release it! It'll definitely be worth the wait though!

Still in the pipeline for 2016 is the split from Sea Bastard and Primitive Man. The SB track is done, and you'll be pleased to hear that it's as long, sprawling and HEAVY as you'd expect. I've yet to hear the PM contribution yet, but I've been told that Ethan reckons it's the band's angriest material to date.
There's been talk of a possible repress of the Leechfeast/Meth Drinker split, but that depends on whether myself and Raw Birth have the funds to do so...
.... Which leads me nicely onto the current 'Sale' in the Dry Cough store. I need to raise some serious money to pay for these upcoming releases (as well as servicing the label's immense debts!), so I'm currently offering 25% off EVERYTHING using the code TERRIBLELIFE at checkout!
Please give me your money in exchange for horrible music!

That's all for now, I've got dogs to walk and kids to feed...
Cheers
Andy

Nightslug 'Loathe' LP Pre-order and Exclusive Cvlt Nation Stream!

Dry Cough Records is extremely proud to bring you the second full length release from German sludge-punks, Nightslug.

Hailing from Dusseldorf, the trio create bilious, fuzz n' feedback drenched sludge riddled with nods to the members' hardcore-punk roots. Their previous two releases, both on Per Koro Records, were well received and coupled with regular shows around Europe, helped cement their reputation as one of the finest horrible, snarling, hate-filled bands around.

'Loathe' follows on perfectly from their debut LP, the excellently titled 'Dismal Fucker'; there's a little less doom in their sound this time around, with a welcome dose of hardcore-infused speed and tempo on a couple of songs, but the 7 tracks are still unmistakably Nightslug: crushing riffs, pissed-off vocals and sheer hatred, making for one of the heaviest, filthiest records of the year.
500 copies (200 Yellow / 300 Black) in heavy card sleeves featuring artwork by drummer Fabian.
Co-release with Broken Limbs Recordings (US) and Lost Pilgrims Records (FRA)

You can pre-order the LP from the Dry Cough store here. They will ship on or around the 9th June

You can hear the entire album via the exclusive Cvlt Nation stream:

Leechfeast / Meth Drinker 12" and Big Machine 7" Now In Stock!

Hello again!

Things are finally getting busy round here so this is just a quick one! I have good news for all of you who are partial to a bit of septic sludge or some fast/slow hardcore!
This weekend has seen the arrival of the new Leechfeast / Meth Drinker split 12" (in conjunction with the excellent Raw Birth Records) here at Dry Cough HQ;

Whilst the debut 7" from Manchester duo Big Machine (ex-Hammers) has been in for a few weeks now.

Both are order from the store NOW!!!

In other news, test presses were recently approved for three other releases:
Nightslug - Loathe LP (expected June)
Sickmark - 7" (expected June) Listen here!
Opium Lord - Eye Of Earth LP (expected August)
And the tracks for the Lich / Moloch split are currently being mastered, so this should finally be ready to go soon!

As always, there's plenty of decent stuff in the distro too, so please feel free to give me your money in exchange for records so that I can afford to release more records!

Sunday, 1 March 2015

Having only released the Open Tomb LP and Keeper/Sea Bastard split since last August things have felt pretty slow here; after waiting for what feels like an eternity I can finally reveal a plethora of awesome new releases for the coming months.

DC17 - Big Machine 7" (co-release with Black Lake, Boslevan,  & Barely Regal)
First up is the debut 7" from this Manchester-based duo, featuring 2 members of the excellent crusty-hardcore outfit Hammers. Seven short blasts of fast/slow sludgey hardcore.

DC18 - Leechfeast Meth Drinker split 12" (co-release with Raw Birth)
Split 12" featuring one track each from Slovenia's murky crusty sludgers Leechfeast, and another from New Zealand's disturbing sludge trio, Meth Drinker. Perfect summer music.

DC19 - NIGHTSLUG LP (co-release with Broken Limbs & Lost Pilgrims)
Second full length from the German three-piece offers more fucked up punk-infused sludge. Not for the faint-hearted.

DC20 - SICKMARK 7" (co-release with Dead Heroes, Pain Of Mind, & Rope Or Guillotine)
The second 7" from the German band mark's Dry Cough's first foray into the world of powerviolence. This is record is fast, frantic, frenetic, and fucking brilliant.

DC21 - Lich / Moloch split LP (co-release with Vetala Productions & Vendetta Records)
This split LP feature the final 8 tracks recorded by the staunchly DIY - and sadly defunct - Margate hardcore outfit Lich. Brutal stuff. The flip side contains two tracks from possibly my favourite band right now, Nottingham hate-mongers Moloch.

DC-- - Primitive Man / Sea Of Bones split (co-release with Broken Limbs)
Split from two of the USA's finest heavy bands: Denver's blackened sludge-doom juggernaut PM, and New Haven's crushing atmospheric doom outfit SoB.

I think you'll agree when I say that's a pretty fine list of bands/releases!

In other news, I have now sold out of the Sea Bastard 'Scabrous' 2LP and have just a handful of the Keeper/Sea Bastard split and Coltsblood 'Into The Unfathomable Abyss' 2LPs left, plus copies of the Open Tomb 'Dead Weight' LP,  Ommadon 'V' 2LP, and the Moloch/ Haggatha split 7".
You can listen to all the Dry Cough releases over at the bandcamp page.

There's been some additions to the distro in the last few weeks with stuff from Halo Of Flies, Vendetta Records, Shove Records and Fuck Yoga, with a parcel from Breathe Plastic imminent:

Hexis / This Gift is A Curse - Split 7"
Abstracter - Wound Robotic Empire LP
Children Of god / Bréag Naofa - Split 7"
Primitive Man / Hexis - Split 10"
Khmer - Nubes Que Anuncian Tormenta LP

That's all for now.
Cheers

Quick update on the stock situation regarding Dry Cough releases:

I only have 7 copies of the Keeper / Sea Bastard split left for sale - so if you want one...
Also, I'm nearly out of Coltsblood 'Into The Unfathomable Abyss 2LP (6 copies left), and down to the last solitary copy of Sea Bastard's 'Scarbrous' 2LP.
I still have copies of the Open Tomb 'Dead Weight' LP, Ommadon 'V' 2LP, and the Moloch / Haggatha 7" too.

Keeper / Sea Bastard Split LP Pre-order now up!

Hello one and all!

Well, we're nearing the end of Dry Cough's first full calender year and I'm feeling pretty pleased with what I've managed to achieve with the label over the last 12 months. I reckon an output of two cassettes, one 7", one LP, and three 2LPs is pretty good going for one dude with limited space, time, and money!

So far 2015 looks like it is already set to eclipse this year, with 5 releases pretty much confirmed already; and that's on top of the latest one which is currently at the pressing plant as we speak.

Of course, I'm talking about the Keeper / Sea Bastard split LP.California's Keeper lurched onto the scene earlier this year (2014) with their 'MMXIV' demo (described by CvltNation as 'doom demo of the year' no less!) showcasing their brutal, gut-wrenching take on doom (think Burning Witch, Grief, Noothgrush etc). They fill their side of this split, the 14 minute long '777' with an unhealthy dose of desolate horror and bone-crunching despair; the vocals alone are enough to make you want to do some damage. These guys are only going to get better and better!

The flip side features another typically weighty offering from UK quartet Sea Bastard. This is their first new material since their sophomore album, 'Scabrous' (also co-released by Dry Cough), and it doesn't disappoint. The band have honed their own unique brand of riff-filled morbid doom and once again they execute it perfectly on the 20+ minute 'Astral Rebirth'.

This is a co-release with Black Reaper Records (UK), Medusa Crush Recordings (CAN), & Tadpole Records (UK) and limited to just 250 copies.

You can pre-order it NOW from the Dry Cough store.

The offer of FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING on all orders of £35 and over is still available too, just use the code OHMYGLOB.

Anyway, that's all for now. I'll have more news on new releases in the New Year so until then...

Merry Fucking Christmas.
Andy / Dry Cough
