Keeper / Sea Bastard Split LP Pre-order now up!

Hello one and all!

Well, we're nearing the end of Dry Cough's first full calender year and I'm feeling pretty pleased with what I've managed to achieve with the label over the last 12 months. I reckon an output of two cassettes, one 7", one LP, and three 2LPs is pretty good going for one dude with limited space, time, and money!

So far 2015 looks like it is already set to eclipse this year, with 5 releases pretty much confirmed already; and that's on top of the latest one which is currently at the pressing plant as we speak.

Of course, I'm talking about the Keeper / Sea Bastard split LP.California's Keeper lurched onto the scene earlier this year (2014) with their 'MMXIV' demo (described by CvltNation as 'doom demo of the year' no less!) showcasing their brutal, gut-wrenching take on doom (think Burning Witch, Grief, Noothgrush etc). They fill their side of this split, the 14 minute long '777' with an unhealthy dose of desolate horror and bone-crunching despair; the vocals alone are enough to make you want to do some damage. These guys are only going to get better and better!

The flip side features another typically weighty offering from UK quartet Sea Bastard. This is their first new material since their sophomore album, 'Scabrous' (also co-released by Dry Cough), and it doesn't disappoint. The band have honed their own unique brand of riff-filled morbid doom and once again they execute it perfectly on the 20+ minute 'Astral Rebirth'.

This is a co-release with Black Reaper Records (UK), Medusa Crush Recordings (CAN), & Tadpole Records (UK) and limited to just 250 copies.

You can pre-order it NOW from the Dry Cough store.

The offer of FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING on all orders of £35 and over is still available too, just use the code OHMYGLOB.

Anyway, that's all for now. I'll have more news on new releases in the New Year so until then...

Merry Fucking Christmas.

As well as my own releases (obviously!) there's some awesome records/tapes in the distro at the minute! Here's some of my favourite recent acquisitions, get your wallets out (well, paypal accounts!):

Vermin Womb - Permanence 12" & CS (Primitive's Ethan Lee Mc Carthy's other band - just as horrible as PM!)
Water Torture - Pill Box LP (noise-infused bass-heavy powerviolence)
Protestant - In Thy Name LP (dark crusty hardcore from the Milwaukee band fronted by HALO OF FLIES' very own Cory Von Bohlen)
Keeper - MMXIV CS (Stunning first release from the Californian doom outfit. Split LP with Sea Bastard coming soon!)
Fange - Poisse LP (massive sludge from France featuring members of Huata).

The free shipping offer on all orders of £35 and over still applies too, just enter the code OHMYGLOB

CVLT Nation deemed Dry Cough worthy of a label spotlight feature on their site today! I am incredibly pleased about this!

All the releases that are still currently available get a few kind words too; if you feel the need to spend money on any of them then head over here: http://www.drycoughrecords.com/

There is still FREE worldwide shipping on all orders over £35 when you use the code OHMYGLOB

Saturday 4 October 2014

You can get free WORLDWIDE shipping on all orders of £35 and over with the code OHMYGLOB at the Dry Cough Records store!

This offer is valid until I decide otherwise... Unless I drop dead before ending it... Then it will last until the end of time... But you probably won't receive the records if that happens...

There's been a fair bit of new stock added to the distro in the last week or two, most recently from Tartarus Records and Crucicados: Bottom Feeder, Internal Rot, Meth Drinker, Moloch, Suffering Mind, Protestant, Sex Dwarf, Warthreat, P.L.F., Closure, Torn Apart, Mouth, Bonestorm, Dead Instrument, GALG, Grizzly Man, Venowl, Highgate, O, Vermin Womb, and Ethereal Riffian

Go take a look!

Sea Bastard / Keeper Split 12"

I'm extremely happy to announce that Dry Cough will be co-releasing the upcoming split 12" from Brighton doom-mongers Sea Bastard, and Californian sludge/doom newcomers Keeper.
Both bands have recorded one mammoth track each for this, and I can assure you that both are absolutely huge.
If you are familiar with Dry Cough then you are likely familiar with Sea Bastard so you know what to expect. If you've never heard Keeper then have a listen now. They're very fucking good!

I still have a handful of copies of the last Sea Bastard LP, 'Scabrous' available; and I should shortly have some copies of the Keeper 'MMXIV' cassette courtesy of Grimoire Cassette Cvlture.

Distro Update & Coltsblood LPs!

I've just added a few bits to the distro, all of it fast!

Water Torture - Pillbox LP (ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!)
Beg - s/t LP
Isolation Tank / Art of burning water - split 7"
Chainsaw to the Face - Agonizing Pain LP
Jesus Cröst - 1986 LP
Dispense - Nothing But The Truth 7"
Morbid Organs Mutilation - War, Live 7"

Also, whilst tidying up this morning I came across a box containing the 'overs' from the pressing plant for the Coltsblood LP. These included two copies of the long sold out Sacred Alder Green vinyl version - which are now available to purchase in the store!

Killing Time....

Not a very exciting first post for this fancy new blog page, but after the last few hectic months things have quietened down here at DCHQ - and I'm bored already!

I'm currently working on a handful of releases (a couple of which, if they come to fruition, may come as a bit of a surprise to some - particularly after my last two releases), but these are all likely to be some months away yet.
So, in the meantime, I'm attempting to build up the distro. I'm expecting some choice titles from Throatruiner, Choking Hazard, Crucificados, and Lost Pilgrim over the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for updates.
The flip side of my getting stock from all these great labels and distros is that if you're in the USA, Canada or Europe, you can now pick up DC releases without the added cost of overseas shipping! Awesome right?
